Programmer's Pick

If you've ever wondered what Tarzan would look like with a dash of circus spectacle and a penchant for roaring at city folk, King of the Jungle is your ticket. Buster Crabbe’s Kaspa proves that a leopard skin is all you need to make waves in San Francisco—or at least make the neighbors nervous.

Overview

Set against the wilds of Africa, King of the Jungle follows a young boy orphaned during his parents' ill-fated photographic expedition into lion country. Alone but resourceful, he clings to his father's hunting knife and grows up in the care of lions, learning to communicate with his adoptive family by roaring. Years later, his unique connection with the animals leads to his capture and transport—along with his lion pride—to an American circus. Renamed Kaspa, the 'jungle boy' is thrust into the spotlight and shipped to San Francisco. There, his animal instincts and unfamiliarity with city life set off a chain of misadventures, bringing him into the orbit of new faces and unforeseen challenges.
