Programmer's Pick

If you like your slashers with a side of industry in-jokes and actors playing actors, Island of Blood brings murder to the craft services table. The killer’s inspiration from a bizarre song lyric adds a memorably offbeat twist to the body count.

Overview

A group of actors and filmmakers gathers on a secluded island to shoot a low-budget murder mystery. Their professional drama quickly turns personal when members of the cast and crew start dying under suspicious circumstances. Isolated from the mainland and with no way to call for help, the survivors realize that someone among them is picking them off one by one. As paranoia sets in, everyone is a suspect, and the line between the movie they're making and the real-life horror unfolding around them blurs. Island of Blood delivers a classic whodunit slasher setup with an added layer of meta-movie intrigue.
