Overview

Set during the British Raj in the 1830s, The Stranglers of Bombay follows Captain Harry Lewis of the East India Company as he tries to uncover the fate of over 2,000 missing natives. With his superior more interested in protecting merchant caravans than investigating disappearances, Lewis is frustrated when a less experienced officer is put in charge. Convinced that an organized gang is behind the vanishing people and animals, Lewis suspects deadly informants at work among the local merchants. As tensions rise and the body count grows, Lewis faces mounting resistance both from within his ranks and the shadowy forces lurking in the region. The film weaves action and horror elements against a backdrop of colonial intrigue and religious fanaticism.
