Overview

Nineteen-year-old Annie Burroughs has just dropped out of college and, afraid to confront her father, relocates to Los Angeles to stay with her older sister Marsha, an ambitious art gallery owner. Marsha’s boyfriend David, a 31-year-old doctor yearning for his own practice, is less enthused by Marsha's devotion to her work. Quickly adapting to city life, Annie takes a receptionist job at David’s clinic, where playful banter soon gives way to a flirtation with David. Amid the sun-soaked backdrop of Santa Monica and the pressures of family history, Annie navigates the shifting dynamics between her, her sister, and her father, setting the stage for emotional turbulence and difficult choices.
