Quick Answer

I, a Woman, Part 2 is a 1968 Swedish-Danish drama and romance film directed by Mac Ahlberg about Siv, a woman trapped in a degrading marriage with a controlling husband who exploits her both emotionally and sexually.

Programmer's Pick

If you like your Euro-erotica with a side of psychological malaise and marital mischief, this sequel doubles down on the first film’s taboo-breaking. Between the voyeuristic husband, the ex-Nazi neighbor, and a parade of complex bedroom arrangements, it’s a full continental breakfast of 1960s sexploitation.

Overview

Siv, newly married to the antique dealer Hanz, finds herself objectified and exploited as her husband photographs her nude and sells the images clandestinely. Living under the watchful eye of his domineering mother, Siv is also pressured into participating in sexual encounters orchestrated by Hanz, including those involving his sophisticated acquaintance, Richard. As Siv discovers unsettling truths about Richard's past and faces mounting humiliations, she returns to work at her old hospital and rekindles a connection with her ex-lover, Dr. Leo. The film unfolds as a stark exploration of sexual politics, marital dysfunction, and personal reclamation in a restrictive environment.
