Programmer's Pick

Bela Lugosi swaps his cape for a lab coat, delivering a delightfully sinister turn as the mad doctor with a vendetta and a flair for animal husbandry. The Devil Bat is a pulpy blend of mad science and cosmetics gone awry, serving up outsized creatures and outsized grudges in equal measure.

Overview

In the small town of Heathville, Dr. Paul Carruthers is a respected chemist and physician nursing a deep resentment after feeling underappreciated by his wealthy employers. While the town admires him, Carruthers secretly conducts bizarre experiments, developing a formula that causes ordinary bats to grow to monstrous proportions. Driven by a thirst for revenge, he creates a potent aftershave with an irresistible scent that lures these giant bats to his intended targets. As he distributes the aftershave among those he blames for his misfortune, a series of mysterious and violent attacks begin to plague the community.
