Programmer's Pick

Invisible monsters, grave-robbing, and a mad scientist—Pierre Chevalier’s entry in the Orloff saga turns the castle into a playground for Freudian anxieties. If your idea of a cozy night is atmospheric Euro-horror with a dash of sexploitation, step inside.

Overview

On a stormy evening, Dr. Garondet is summoned to the remote castle of the enigmatic Professor Orloff. Despite warnings from his friends, Garondet braves the journey and is immediately confronted by Cecile, Orloff's peculiar daughter, who is tormented by visions of an invisible phantom roaming the castle's halls. Orloff shares with his reluctant guest the grim background to Cecile's torment—stories of premature burials, desecrated graves, and punishments that blur the line between sanity and madness. As the night deepens within the castle's oppressive walls, Garondet is forced to question both the nature of the threats lurking in the shadows and the boundaries of his own perception. This film sets a gothic horror stage filled with isolation, psychological unease, and unorthodox science.
