Programmer's Pick

If you ever wondered what Zorro would look like with his mask off—and a lot more besides—this parody delivers in spades. It’s part costume drama, part slapstick romp, and all about pushing the boundaries of 1970s sexploitation with a knowing wink.

Overview

The Erotic Adventures of Zorro takes the legendary masked swashbuckler and gives him a bawdy, tongue-in-cheek makeover. Set in 19th-century Los Angeles, Don Diego de Vega returns from Madrid to liberate the oppressed citizens from the clutches of the villainous Luis Bonasario. By day, Don Diego masquerades as an effete aristocrat—parasol in hand, donkey in tow—while by night he wields his sword (and other assets) as Zorro. This film blends raucous sex comedy with period adventure, as Zorro slashes the mark of 'Z' into the backsides of wrongdoers and courts a bevy of willing women, all while closing in on the beautiful Maria. Expect a riot of campy antics, risqué humor, and plenty of skin in this grindhouse spoof.
