Quick Answer

What is Bigfoot about?

Bigfoot is a 1970 American horror, science fiction, and thriller film directed by Robert F. Slatzer about a colony of Bigfoot creatures kidnapping women in the woods while bikers and opportunists try to rescue them.

Programmer's Pick

Bigfoot manages to cram bikers, busty damsels, and a family of cryptids into one supremely odd stew. Come for the shambling monsters, stay for the salesmen with dollar signs in their eyes—this is pure exploitation crossbreeding at its weirdest.

Overview

Deep in the forests of California, fast-talking Jasper B. Hawks and his sidekick Elmer Briggs cross paths with pilot Joi Landis, who is forced to parachute from her failing aircraft. While on the ground, Joi and Rick’s girlfriend Chris both fall prey to the mysterious Bigfoot creatures lurking in the woods. The sheriff’s department and ranger’s station are alerted to the disappearances but don’t take action, leaving Rick, the laconic biker, to seek help on his own. As rumors swirl and the stakes rise, would-be rescuers clash with a cryptid menace that has no intention of giving up its captives. This is a creature feature with a bikersploitation twist—expect low-budget thrills, oddball characters, and a taste for the absurd.
