Quick Answer

What is The Devil's Rejects about?

The Devil's Rejects is a 2005 Germany/United States crime, drama, and horror film directed by Rob Zombie about the murderous Firefly family fleeing a vengeful sheriff after a deadly police raid.

Programmer's Pick

Rob Zombie cranks the voltage on Southern-fried mayhem, serving up a vicious road movie where the line between hunter and hunted gets gleefully smeared in blood. If you like your crime sagas unhinged, your antiheroes nasty, and your motels run-down, you’re in the right company.

Overview

The Devil's Rejects opens with a full-throttle assault as Texas lawman Sheriff John Quincey Wydel leads a heavily armed police force against the notorious Firefly family, responsible for a staggering number of murders and disappearances. As the authorities descend on their rural stronghold, the Fireflys fight back, setting off a brutal chain of events. With family members killed or captured, Otis and Baby go on the run, leaving a trail of violence as they rendezvous at a seedy motel and take hostages. Meanwhile, Captain Spaulding, Baby's father and another member of the clan, attempts to regroup with the fugitives. The story quickly becomes a tense cat-and-mouse game, pitting sadistic outlaws against an equally relentless lawman, all against a backdrop of exploitation and mayhem.
