Programmer's Pick

If you ever wondered what would happen if Ms. 45 assembled her own girl gang, this indie revenge saga is your answer. Grit, grime, and a healthy dose of patterned pantyhose power make A Gun for Jennifer a wild ride through exploitation cinema’s feminist underbelly.

Overview

Allison, seeking refuge from an abusive marriage in Ohio, arrives in New York City only to face violence once again. When she is attacked on a city bus, a masked gang of women intervene, meting out brutal street justice to her would-be assailant. With no safe way out, Allison is coerced into joining the group, adopting the name "Jennifer" to conceal her identity. As she’s swept into their world, Allison discovers that these women are on a crusade against abusive men, dispensing vigilante retribution with increasing ferocity. The film sets up a gritty urban landscape, a relentless pace, and a raw, provocative tone that makes no apologies for its exploitation credentials.
