Overview

When Billie Nash, a strikingly attractive blonde drifter, steps off a bus into a nameless small town, she wastes no time landing a job as a waitress at the local bar. The establishment is owned by Matt Bannister, whose wife Dora inherited it from her alcoholic father and now struggles with her own drinking. Sensing opportunity, Billie seduces Matt and together they hatch a plan to sell the bar behind Dora’s back and escape to Mexico. But executing their scheme is no simple feat, with forgeries, impersonations, and an increasingly suspicious circle of neighbors threatening to unravel their plot. This is film noir with a hard-boiled edge, where lust and larceny are never far from the next bus ticket out of town.
