Programmer's Pick

Gary Busey voicing a homicidal cookie is exactly the kind of sugar rush you expect from Full Moon’s kitchen of oddities. Baking and bloodshed rarely go so hand-in-hand, and this horror spoof doesn’t skimp on the frosting or the one-liners.

Overview

Set in Waco, Texas, The Gingerdead Man opens with the deadly actions of Millard Findlemeyer, a crazed killer who leaves tragedy in his wake at Cadillac Jack's diner. After his execution, Findlemeyer’s ashes are sent to his witch mother, who mixes them into a mysterious gingerbread spice mix. Meanwhile, the Leigh family’s bakery is struggling to survive, with tensions rising among the staff and family. When a mysterious gingerbread mix appears at the bakery, it sets the stage for supernatural chaos. The film blends horror, comedy, and fantasy into a story that’s equal parts slasher spoof and holiday parody, with the Leigh family facing an absurd new threat in the form of a vengeful baked good.
