Overview

Gary Webster, a nightclub manager, and his assistant Georgia are transporting a troupe of dancers from New York City to Singapore when disaster strikes: their plane crashes into the Pacific. After days adrift, the survivors reach a seemingly deserted island, only to discover the remains of a previous castaway ensnared in an enormous spider web. The dead man's journal hints at terrifying happenings linked to uranium mining, setting an ominous tone for the group's struggle for survival. As they search for resources and shelter, an atmosphere of isolation and growing dread pervades—this is a classic slice of European B-horror, mixing beached glamour with the primal fear of what lurks in the shadows.
Ending Explained Spoilers — click to reveal

Gary, transformed into a spider-man beast, is ultimately driven off after attacking the group, with the survivors awaiting rescue.

The climax pits the last survivors against Gary’s monstrous form, using fire as their main defense. The ending underscores the group’s desperate will to survive as their numbers dwindle, with hope resting on the return of the rescue ship. The final battle with Gary serves both as a literal fight for life and a metaphor for the primal dangers lurking within and around them.
