Overview

Alex Gardner, a college student, is tormented by recurring nightmares that vividly play out the deaths wrought by a killer from Alcatraz’s grim past. When these visions start bleeding into his waking life, and odd phenomena occur—like Alex being seen levitating—his occult-savvy teacher urges him to confront the source. Alex and his friends travel to the infamous island, only to become stranded and ensnared in supernatural peril. As events spiral, the group faces possession and violence, and Alex finds an unlikely ally in Sammy Mitchell, the ghost of a heavy metal singer, who helps him navigate the island’s deadly secrets. The film blends supernatural horror with tongue-in-cheek humor amid its haunted prison setting.
