Overview

During college initiation week, a group of young women must spend the night in a supposedly abandoned mansion as part of their sorority hazing ritual. The mansion, rumored to be haunted by the spirit of a mad scientist who once transformed teenagers into monsters, is located well outside of town and has a history of strange noises after midnight. While the pledges settle in for a night of fright, their boyfriends help them get comfortable before leaving. Meanwhile, Professor Williams and Police Lieutenant Hudson investigate the house, suspecting that something more sinister than ghost stories may be lurking within. What follows is a collision of campus hijinks and classic creature-feature antics, all set in a gothic setting with a tongue-in-cheek sense of humor.
Ending Explained Spoilers — click to reveal

After the boys rescue the girls from the Mad Doctor and his monsters, the villain tries to break out into the audience for new victims, blurring the line between film and reality.

The film’s ending deliberately shatters the fourth wall, enlisting the audience in its madcap antics. By having the monsters attempt to invade the theater itself, it turns the traditional creature feature on its head and cements its reputation as a parody built for audience participation.
