Quick Answer

Programmer's Pick

A Vegas haunted house, a werewolf-jackal curse, and a jealous mummy—Oliver Drake’s lone horror outing throws everything but the Sphinx at the screen. Where else do ancient pharaohs and belly dancers share billing with a psychotronic jackal-man?

Overview

Archaeologist David Barrie stumbles upon an extraordinary find: two ancient sarcophagi, one holding a 4,000-year-old Egyptian princess and the other a mysterious mummy. Relocating them to a secluded house outside Las Vegas, Barrie soon uncovers a chilling legend—anyone who spends a night with the princess under a full moon becomes a jackal. As the princess awakens and the mummy stirs, the film weaves undead mystique with desert kitsch, blending old dark house atmospherics, Egyptian curses, and an unlikely Nevada setting. Expect independent exploitation flavor, monsters on the prowl, and a collision of supernatural forces far from the Nile.

Why This Matters

This independently produced horror film is notable for its unusual pairing of a mummy and a 'were-jackal' and for its troubled production, remaining unreleased for over a decade after being shot on location in Las Vegas before finally appearing on video in the mid-1980s.

Why Cult

Egypt Meets Vegas

The film uniquely sets its ancient Egyptian curse and undead royalty in the neon shadow of Las Vegas, far from the usual tombs and pyramids.

A twist on werewolf lore: spend the night with the princess under a full moon, and you join the ranks of nocturnal jackal-men.

Monster Smackdown

Watch a supernatural showdown as a revived mummy and a cursed jackal-man battle it out, rampaging through the streets of Las Vegas.

Psychotronic Oddity

An unfinished, independently produced spectacle that’s equal parts camp, exploitation, and late-’60s genre weirdness.
