He is best known for his role in Terrifying Girls' High School: Lynch Law Classroom (1973), where he navigates the oppressive atmosphere of a girls' school gone awry. As the first Kirenger in Himitsu Sentai Gorenger, Hatakeyama's early work in the genre laid a foundation for future tokusatsu productions. His contributions to cult cinema continue to resonate, showcasing the intersection of exploitation and genre storytelling.
