Born 1955 · Merewether, New South Wales, Australia · Active 1975–2023

Phillip Avalon, born in 1955 in Australia, made a notable appearance in the cult classic Inn of the Damned (1975), where he contributed to the film's eerie atmosphere. A former surfing champion and male model, Avalon transitioned into acting, bringing a distinct charisma to his roles. His multifaceted career also includes work as a producer and director, but his early work in exploitation cinema like Inn of the Damned remains a significant part of his legacy, capturing the essence of 1970s grindhouse films.

as Alfred

A sheriff investigates why the guests at a local hostelry check in, but never check out.  A most unusual Australian low-budget movie that is deceptively simple in appearance. Terry Bourke, to whom the Australian film industry owes a huge debt, directs his actors with a deft touch. The multi-talented Bourke is also responsible for the insightful, often witty script. The much-loved John Meillon puts in an eye catching performance and it is a pity he isn't used in more scenes. Highly recommended.
