Film history tends to remember the respectable stuff.
SassyFlix is interested in everything happening down the street from the art house: the drive-ins, grindhouses, neighborhood theaters, midnight screenings, bargain-bin VHS tapes, regional productions, independent distributors, and movies that survived because somebody loved them enough to keep a battered print, tape, disc, or film reel alive.
We're here for the movies that were ignored, banned, butchered, mocked, forgotten, rediscovered, bootlegged, restored, and passed from one movie fanatic to another.
That's our film history.

SassyFlix does not sanitize movies because their language, violence, sexuality, attitudes, or politics make modern audiences uncomfortable.
Many of these films came from very different times, and some contain material that is crude, offensive, outrageous, tasteless, politically incorrect, or just plain strange.
We believe adults can watch them, understand the era in which they were made, and make up their own minds.
When the best available version contains nudity, violence, rough language, or controversial material, our goal is to present the film rather than quietly cut pieces out of it.
RESCUED FROM THE BACK ROW
A lot of older genre cinema has spent decades circulating through faded television prints, battered VHS tapes, second-generation bootlegs, worn-out DVDs, and questionable uploads.
Whenever possible, SassyFlix cleans, restores, remasters, re-encodes, subtitles, and improves the material we make available while respecting the character of the original film.
We're not trying to make a 1962 drive-in picture look like it was shot yesterday.
We're trying to make it look like the best surviving version of that gloriously strange 1962 drive-in picture.
DOWN THE RABBIT HOLE
SassyFlix isn't built around the same hundred movies you've already been told are important.
We want you to stumble across something you have never heard of, wonder what the hell it is, watch it anyway, and discover a new favorite.
That might be a forgotten noir, a regional horror movie, a poverty-row western, a sleazy European thriller, a martial-arts oddity, a ridiculous monster picture, or something so difficult to classify that the only sensible response is to hit play.
