Fandango is a 1970 American Western film directed by John Hayes about miners battling outlaws and seeking companionship at a saloon in the old west.

Synopsis

A group of men travel deep into the mountains to create a gold-mining camp. Soon the campers find themselves bedeviled by a band of outlaws who destroy their food supply. When the miners begin pining for women, the leader and two miners go to town in search of prostitutes. They end up at the Fandango Saloon, where the leader is friends with the madam. Why Cult

Sexploitation Western

This isn't your father's Western—Fandango blends frontier shootouts with a healthy dose of saloon nudity and sexploitation, earning its X rating.

Feisty Madam Twist

The saloon madam isn't just window dressing—she turns the tables and brings down the gang leader herself, restoring some wild west order.

Independent Western

Directed and written by John Hayes, this low-budget oddity leans into its outsider status with unpolished grit and offbeat characters.

Bawdy Camp Life

From prospectors pining for female company to miners caught in a gunfight over prostitutes, the film revels in the rowdier realities of gold camp living.
