Overview

Set against the foggy backdrop of coastal Oregon, Blood Song traces the intersecting paths of two damaged souls: Paul, traumatized by childhood violence and now locked away in a psychiatric institution, and Marion, a teenager struggling with a disability after a tragic accident. When Paul escapes the institution, murdering an orderly and reclaiming a treasured wooden flute, he sets off a chilling series of events. Meanwhile, Marion tries to navigate her turbulent home life, haunted by strange visions and the scars of her past. As the escaped psychopath draws closer to Stanford Bay, the stage is set for a tense collision between predator and unwilling psychic witness. This is a moody, low-budget slasher with a supernatural twist.

Why This Matters

Blood Song stands out for featuring Frankie Avalon in a notably different style of performance and for its entanglement in the UK's 'video nasty' panic, where it was seized under the Obscene Publications Act despite not being prosecuted for obscenity.
