Two schemers, a ticking clock, and a burlesque show collide on the Las Vegas strip.
TONIGHT FOR SURE
The Wild, Wild West has never been wilder...Beautiful babes...bashful cowboys!
On the Las Vegas strip, two unlikely men rendezvous: Samuel Hill, an ill-kempt desert miner, and Benjamin Jabowski, a John Birch Society dandy from the city. Intent on some sort of mayhem, they enter the Herald Club before the burlesque show starts, and they wire something to the electrical box, set to blow at midnight. They sit at the back of the club to get to know each other.
Tonight for Sure is a 1962 American comedy western directed by Francis Ford Coppola and Jerry Schafer about two men plotting mischief in a Las Vegas burlesque club as midnight approaches.
Synopsis
Why Cult
Co-directed and co-written by future auteur Francis Ford Coppola, this is his leap into feature filmmaking—through the back door of burlesque.
Set inside the Herald Club on the Las Vegas strip, the film revels in live burlesque acts and the voyeuristic antics of its leads.
Tagged as 'sexploitation' and loaded with softcore, female nudity, and risqué humor, this is a prime example of the nudie-cutie subgenre.
The film milks comedy from the oddball pairing of a desert miner and a buttoned-up John Birch Society dandy plotting mischief.
