Programmer's Pick

Campy horror, teen romance, and a full moon’s worth of undead mayhem—The Midnight Hour is what happens when a Halloween party gets a little too authentic. With a witchy curse and a cemetery full of trouble, it’s a loving nod to both classic monster movies and high school hijinks.

Overview

In the quaint town of Pitchford Cove, Massachusetts, Halloween plans take a bizarre turn for five high school friends. Phil, Mary, Mitch, Vinnie, and Melissa aim to make this October 31st unforgettable by borrowing costumes from a witchcraft museum, only to stumble upon a trunk containing a mysterious ancient curse. When Melissa, whose heritage includes latent sorcery, recites the curse at a cemetery, their night of harmless mischief turns unexpectedly dark. Soon, the dead begin to rise, led by the formidable witch Lucinda Cavender, Melissa’s distant ancestor. As the friends scramble to make sense of the chaos, Pitchford Cove is overrun by supernatural forces, setting the stage for a night where nobody's costume is just for show.
