Programmer's Pick

If you like your workplace comedies spiked with awkward sexual tension and career chaos, The Boss' Wife delivers. Between Daniel Stern’s hapless everyman and Arielle Dombasle’s brazen seductress, this one knows its way around a boardroom and a bedroom. Plus, Christopher Plummer as the oblivious boss is a treat.

Overview

Joel Keefer is an earnest young stockbroker with a lot on his plate: he’s trying to get his wife pregnant while abstaining from sex, climbing the corporate ladder at the Roalvang Company, and—most precariously—dodging the flirtatious advances of his boss’s glamorous wife, Louise. To complicate matters, Louise seems intent on being caught in her seductions, often making moves right under her husband’s nose. With workplace competition from the scheming Dugdale, the unpredictable antics of Carlos to manage, and the eccentricities of Mr. Roalvang himself, Joel’s attempts to maintain self-control and professionalism spiral into a series of comedic entanglements. This is a sex comedy where temptation and office politics collide.
