Quick Answer

What is Police Academy: Mission to Moscow about?

Police Academy: Mission to Moscow is a 1994 Russia/USA comedy crime film directed by Alan Metter about a group of accident-prone American officers sent to Moscow to help stop a mobster using a video game to commit robberies.

Programmer's Pick

The Police Academy formula gets a dose of post-Cold War chaos, swapping blue uniforms for fur hats and crooks with computer skills. Where else do you get slapstick, a criminal video game, Christopher Lee as a Russian commandant, and Ron Perlman plotting world domination with a joystick?

Overview

When a Russian mob boss develops a wildly addictive video game that secretly unlocks security systems for his crew’s robberies, desperate authorities in Moscow call in reinforcements: the legendary (and legendarily inept) veterans of the Police Academy. Commandant Lassard and his squad jet off to Russia, where they’re tasked with outwitting Konstantine Konali, a criminal mastermind hiding behind a legitimate business. Between bungled surveillance, cultural confusion, and their trademark slapstick, the American officers must navigate international intrigue and high-tech crime. Expect mistaken identities, chaotic undercover operations, and a parade of mishaps as the team tries to bring down Konali’s digital crime spree.
