Overview

Set in the small town of Nelsonville, Ohio in 1956, Mischief tracks the unlikely friendship between introverted, awkward Jonathan Bellah and his bold new neighbor, Gene Harbrough, a nonconformist transplant from Chicago. Gene, a confident ladies’ man, decides to mentor Jonathan through the minefield of first love and teenage social hierarchies, vowing to help him win the heart of Marilyn McCauley. Meanwhile, Gene’s own romantic pursuits with Bunny Miller face complications, especially with the interference of Bunny’s jealous boyfriend, Kenny. High school antics, budding romance, and the challenges of growing up in 1950s America set the tone for this coming-of-age comedy.
