A barrel of Trioxin, a group of meddling kids, and an abandoned cemetery—what could go right? Ken Wiederhorn’s sequel doubles down on the brain-eating carnage and punkish humor, making it a late-80s midnight movie staple.

Overview

Set in the aftermath of a military mishap, Return of the Living Dead Part II opens with a barrel of the toxic gas Trioxin tumbling unnoticed into a river. The next day, a trio of kids led by bullies Johnny and Billy, drag Jesse Wilson to a cemetery mausoleum for a club initiation. Their adventure quickly turns south when they discover the rogue barrel, open it, and are horrified to find a corpse inside.
