Quick Answer

What is Werewolves on Wheels about?

Werewolves on Wheels is a 1971 American action-horror film directed by Michel Levesque about a biker gang that stumbles onto a Satanic cult and falls victim to a supernatural curse.

Programmer's Pick

Only in 1971 could you have a film where burly bikers and Satanic monks share the screen—and the curse. Werewolves on Wheels is equal parts leather, dust, and supernatural mayhem; the rare ride where the full-throttle mood is matched by occult madness.

Overview

Werewolves on Wheels follows the Devil’s Advocates, a California biker gang whose freewheeling desert ride takes a sinister detour. After losing their way, the gang finds sanctuary in a remote hillside church inhabited by hooded priests. What begins as a night of hospitality and indulgence—complete with food, drink, and a haze of drugs—soon turns strange as the bikers are lulled into a deep stupor. The setting is pure early '70s bikersploitation, charged with occult overtones and a looming sense of danger as the gang unwittingly steps into a trap. The film blends outlaw biker culture with supernatural horror, setting the stage for a confrontation between counterculture rebels and a dark, ritualistic force.
