Overview

Set in 1999 Russia, The Rifleman of the Voroshilov Regiment introduces Ivan Afonin, a decorated World War II veteran living quietly with his granddaughter Katya. Their peaceful life is shattered when a group of privileged young men, enabled by connections and bored with their routine, lure Katya into their flat under false pretenses and commit a brutal assault. When the legal system bends to corruption—thanks to one perpetrator's influential father—the offenders walk free, leaving Ivan to face a society where justice is negotiable. This setup launches a tale of personal vengeance and the limits of law in a system riddled with abuse of power, all through the lens of a grandfather’s unwavering resolve.
