Overview

A pair of German vacationers meet a grisly fate on a secluded Greek island, setting the stage for five travelers and a hitchhiker who soon follow in their footsteps. Despite warnings of ominous tarot cards, the group sails to the nearly deserted island, where they find the only signs of life are a handful of wary residents and a sense of mounting dread. When one of their own is injured, the group splits up, only to discover evidence of violence and something far more threatening lurking in the shadows. Antropophagus revels in its sun-drenched isolation, layering psychological unease and impending horror as the travelers realize they are not alone—and not welcome—on this forsaken stretch of paradise.
