Programmer's Pick

If your idea of a good time involves lepers, chainsaws, and enough gore to stain the Long Island Sound, Nathan Schiff’s backyard horror opus delivers. It’s a proudly rough-hewn slice of outsider cinema, and the mutated cannibal king is the cherry on top of this bloody sundae.

Overview

When a rash of gruesome murders grips Long Island, Inspector James Cameron takes the case, following a trail of carnage that leads into the island’s bleak wastelands. Here, he confronts a secretive clan of leprous cannibals, ruled by a mutated, seemingly indestructible leader bent on growing his flesh-eating stronghold. With help from his son Jack and some unsavory motorcycle accomplices, the monstrous king keeps his followers fed through murder and mayhem. As the law closes in, the stage is set for an all-out bloodbath. This is independent, no-budget horror at its most audacious, where gore, outlandish villains, and DIY ambition collide.
