Programmer's Pick

Bruce Campbell, wisecracks, and giant wood-eating bugs—Alien Apocalypse is the only film where your osteopath might also be humanity’s last hope. Expect B-movie shenanigans with a side of splintered dystopia.

Overview

After a 40-year mission in space, astronaut and osteopath Dr. Ivan Hood and his companion Kelly touch down near the ruins of Portland, Oregon, only to discover the world has been conquered by giant termite-like aliens. These invaders, having arrived two decades earlier, used EMP bombs to cripple Earth's defenses and now force the surviving humans into work camps, with human bounty hunters supervising the labor. Hood and Kelly quickly realize that freedom is a scarce commodity, and that survival means contending with both extraterrestrial overlords and human collaborators. Blending adventure, comedy, and B-movie sci-fi, Alien Apocalypse sets up a tale of resistance and reluctant heroism in a world overrun by intergalactic pests.
