Programmer's Pick

Carl Weathers takes on Australia with the kind of muscle-bound resolve that made him iconic, but it’s the Ozploitation grit and crime-soaked Queensland settings that give this down-under revenge tale its jagged edge. Where else do you get shark-infested vengeance and blaxploitation attitude in one R-rated package?

Overview

Billy 'Hurricane' Smith, a Texas construction worker mourning the loss of his mother, heads to Australia when his sister goes missing. Disoriented and out of place, Billy plunges into the shadowy nightlife of the Gold Coast, crossing paths with a tough pimp named Shanks and the streetwise Julie, who both have ties to his sister’s disappearance. As Billy digs deeper, he collides with a dangerous crime network led by the ruthless Charlie Dowd, who is battling his own partner for control. Unwilling to back down, Billy’s determination to find his sister puts him on a collision course with a world of brothels, betrayals, and bloodshed where violence and loyalty are currency.
