Programmer's Pick

Giant teens, a rampaging duck, and a plot powered by pure 1960s camp—Village of the Giants is proof that size really does matter in the world of B-movie mayhem. Bert I. Gordon takes H.G. Wells for a wild, mud-splattered spin, with more suggestive dancing than most science fiction dares to dream.

Overview

In the fictional town of Hainesville, California, a young inventor nicknamed "Genius" stumbles upon a mysterious substance called "goo" that causes living things to grow to enormous proportions. The discovery attracts the attention of a group of big-city teenagers whose car accident and wild mud-wrestling antics bring them into town. Driven by greed and a dare, these delinquents steal the goo, consume it, and transform into towering giants. With their newfound size, they quickly seize control of the town by kidnapping the sheriff's daughter and making their presence felt with provocative dancing. As the town's adults falter, it's up to the local teens to come up with a plan to save their home from the oversized invaders.
