Elliott Mason, an actor active in the late 1970s, brings a distinctive flair to the cult film landscape. He appears in The Car (1977), where he navigates the eerie atmosphere of a driverless vehicle wreaking havoc, and in Goldengirl (1979), a film that explores the intersection of sports and exploitation. Mason's roles in these films reflect the era's fascination with both horror and the bizarre, contributing to the unique tapestry of grindhouse cinema that SassyFlix celebrates.
The Car
The film is set in the fictional Utah community of Santa Ynez, which is being terrorized by a mysterious black coupe that appears out of nowhere and begins running people down. After the car kills off the town's Sheriff (John Marley), it becomes the job of Captain Wade Parent (James Brolin) to stop the murderous driver.
