Professor Norman Taylor teaches at Hempnell Medical College. He's quite good and has earned the respect of his colleagues. Some of the wives don't quite feel the same about his wife Tansy however. Norman is quite shocked to learn that Tansy has been practicing witchcraft since he'd had an accident two years before in Jamaica. Tansy is convinced that it's her witchcraft that saved him. He thinks it's all nonsense and destroys all of her paraphernalia, including a small photo of himself Tansy kept in a locket. Soon after, Norman's world begins to fall apart. One of his students accuses him of molesting her and as a result another student threatens him with a gun. When evil spirits try to take him, Tansy decides that she will die in his place. He races to save her but Tansy isn't isn't the only practitioner of witchcraft. A skeptical college professor discovers that his wife has been practicing magic for years. Like the learned, rational fellow he is, he forces her to destroy all her magical charms and protective devices, and stop that foolishness. He isn't put off by her insistence that his professional rivals are working magic against him, and her protections are necessary to his career and life. A woman who may be a witch defends her husband from forces attempting to harm him. A skeptical college professor destroys the charms his wife secretly placed around their home, unaware they were the only things keeping a rival witch’s attacks at bay.
