1988 · 1h 24m · R · Action / Comedy · IMDB TMDB

Traxx is a mercenary ex-cop who'd rather be home baking cookies, but, instead finds himself with the task of almost singlehandedly demolishing a corrupt business empire built on drug-running, murder and prostitution.

Quick Answer

What is Traxx about?

Traxx is a 1988 American action-comedy film directed by Jerome Gary about a mercenary ex-cop who returns to his hometown to clean up crime his own way.

Programmer's Pick

Traxx serves up Texas justice with a side of baked goods and a heap of 1980s absurdity. Shadoe Stevens brings deadpan energy to a vigilante who’s as handy with a gun as he is with a cookie sheet. If your taste runs toward spoof-heavy cult action, this one’s got the recipe.

Overview

Traxx opens in 1984 with its namesake Texas State Trooper, a lawman who’s had enough of criminals escaping justice on legal technicalities or insanity pleas. Frustrated by the system and unafraid of controversy, Traxx responds to a violent pet store hostage crisis with his own brand of deadly justice—a move that doesn’t endear him to his superiors. Known for his unorthodox and lethal methods, Traxx is a man who would rather bake cookies but can’t resist the call to dispense vigilante justice. This action-comedy revels in over-the-top parody and absurd humor as it sets up a world where law, order, and explosive mayhem collide.
