Quick Answer

What is Super Fuzz about?

Super Fuzz is a 1980 Spain-Italy-USA action comedy fantasy film directed by Sergio Corbucci about a rookie police officer who gains a wild array of superpowers after being exposed to radiation from a secret nuclear experiment.

Programmer's Pick

Super Fuzz doesn’t just spoof the superhero genre—it hurls a parking ticket at it, sets it on nuclear fire, and flies off with a wink. Terence Hill’s Dave Speed isn’t your average cop: he’s indestructible, telekinetic, and just a little allergic to the color red. It’s a campy, Euro-flavored send-up where the punchlines hit almost as hard as the super-powered brawls.

Overview

Fresh out of the police academy, Dave Speed is sent on a routine assignment to a small Native American village in the Florida Everglades, blissfully unaware that the U.S. government and NASA are about to conduct a secret nuclear test nearby. When a missile loaded with red plutonium detonates, Dave is caught in the resulting radiation but miraculously survives. His close brush with the explosion makes him the talk of the force—except for his skeptical partner, Sergeant Willy Dunlop. Soon, Dave discovers that the accident has left him with an unpredictable set of superpowers. As he tries to make sense of his new abilities and their peculiar limitations, Dave finds himself swept into a series of bizarre adventures blending crime, comedy, and superhero antics.
