Programmer's Pick

Ninjas in America? Yes, and not just any ninjas—silent killers with a taste for mayhem, all up against Chuck Norris’s stoic karate chops. The film serves up neo-noir vengeance with a side of shuriken, pitting personal history against a full-on ninja conspiracy.

Overview

A retired karate champion, Scott James, is pulled back into violence when a secret ninja clan terrorizes those around him. After a dancer named Nancy incorporates martial arts into her performance and is brutally targeted by masked assassins, Scott narrowly survives an attack that leaves Nancy and her family dead. With few allies besides his old mercenary friend McCarn, and rebuffed attempts to involve him in anti-terrorist operations, Scott finds himself isolated—yet compelled to seek out the origins of this shadowy ninja threat. Blending martial arts spectacle, covert operations, and a simmering undercurrent of revenge, The Octagon sets the stage for a uniquely American take on ninja warfare.
