Overview

After a glamorous blonde actress is found murdered near a bar, Detective Sgt. Jack Stevens, who spent the prior evening drinking there, discovers that he was seen leaving with a blonde but has no memory of the event. Grappling with a troubling blackout and mounting suspicion, Stevens launches his own investigation. He questions a colorful array of suspects, including a columnist romantically linked to the victim, an eccentric caricaturist, the caricaturist’s wife who works at the bar, and the artist’s lover. As Stevens pieces together the tangled relationships and motives, his own role in the crime remains uncertain. Female Jungle serves up a moody noir atmosphere of suspicion and self-doubt, where even the investigator can't be sure he's innocent.
