Programmer's Pick

Mortuary blends small-town slasher chills with occult overtones and enough mortuary skullduggery to give your local undertaker second thoughts. If you enjoy your horror with séances, stolen tires, and creepy roller rinks, this embalmed slice of 1980s paranoia delivers the goods.

Overview

After the suspicious poolside death of her psychiatrist father, Christie Parson suspects foul play, despite her mother Eve’s insistence that it was an accident. Weeks later, her boyfriend Greg and his friend Josh break into a local mortuary—seeking retribution for unpaid wages—only to discover an unsettling occult gathering. What begins as a simple act of vengeance quickly turns sinister when a cloaked killer claims a victim right before Greg’s eyes. With missing persons piling up and the ominous presence of the mortuary looming over her family, Christie is forced to question who she can trust, even as her own sleepwalking and nightmares threaten her grip on reality. Mortuary serves up small-town paranoia, occult ambiance, and a series of unnerving disappearances.
