ROUGH NIGHT IN JERICHO

Who says they don't make westerns like they used to?

1967 · 1h 44m · NR · Romance / Western · IMDB TMDB

The only business in the Wild West town of Jericho that corrupt sheriff Alex Flood doesn't control behind the scenes is the stagecoach owned by tough-willed widow Molly Lang and her right-hand man, Hickman. Former marshal Dolan, recently hired by Lang and Hickman as a driver, wants to stay out of the mess, but when he sees Flood's henchman Yarbrough assault Lang, he steps up to fight the corruption.

Quick Answer

What is Rough Night in Jericho about?

Rough Night in Jericho is a 1967 American romance-western directed by Arnold Laven about a corrupt sheriff who seizes control of a frontier town, opposed by a resilient widow, her allies, and a former lawman.

Programmer's Pick

Dean Martin swaps crooning for cruelty as a sheriff-turned-tyrant, while Jean Simmons proves that the West’s toughest grit sometimes comes in a petticoat. If power grabs, stagecoaches, and hard-nosed showdowns are your poison, Jericho pours a stiff one.

Overview

In Jericho, a once-promising lawman named Alex Flood has turned into the town's worst menace, exerting control over nearly every business except one—the stagecoach line run by tenacious widow Molly Lang with her loyal colleague Ben Hickman. The arrival of Dolan, a gambler and former lawman's deputy, signals potential change in the power dynamic, especially after he sees firsthand the violence and intimidation wielded by Flood and his men. With Flood organizing lynch mobs and terrorizing those who oppose him, Molly, Hickman, and Dolan are forced to choose between keeping their heads down or confronting the corrupt regime. Tensions build as alliances are tested and Jericho’s fate hangs in the balance.
