ESKIMO NELL

Budding film director Dennis Morrison, producer Clive Potter, and screenwriter Harris Tweedle are hired by seedy erotic film producer Benny U. Murdoch to make a sexy movie based on the poem "The Ballad of Eskimo Nell". However, they run into difficulty when each of the production's backers want a completely different style of film made. Then, Murdoch makes off with the money, and the three have to produce four different versions of the movie to keep everybody happy – a gay Western, a hardcore porno, a Kung Fu-style musical, and a wholesome family production.

After their producer Benny absconds with the funds, Denis, Harris, and Benny must produce multiple versions of 'Eskimo Nell' to appease their varied backers, all while lacking the necessary money and facing possible legal consequences.

The ending is a classic farce: the trio, left high and dry by their unreliable producer, scramble to fulfill conflicting obligations to different investors. The film lampoons the chaos of low-budget filmmaking, highlighting the absurd lengths the aspiring directors must go to in order to stay out of jail. It’s a tongue-in-cheek commentary on the compromises and mismatched expectations endemic to the world of independent British cinema.
