Programmer's Pick

Stephen King’s only directorial outing answers the question: what if your car really did want to kill you? With killer trucks, weaponized arcade games, and a truck sporting a Green Goblin grin, Maximum Overdrive delivers machine mayhem with a side of black comedy.

Overview

Strange things happen when Earth passes through the tail of a rogue comet: suddenly, everyday machines develop a murderous mind of their own. From sarcastic ATMs to lethal arcade cabinets and unpredictable bridges, nothing with a motor or a circuit is safe. As chaos erupts globally, a handful of survivors—including a paroled ex-con and a feisty waitress—find themselves under siege at the Dixie Boy Truck Stop in North Carolina. With homicidal trucks circling and appliances turning deadly, the group must figure out how to endure the mechanical onslaught. This is a wild, sardonic blend of action and horror where the gadgets you trust become your worst nightmare.
