Quick Answer

What is The Lost Skeleton of Cadavra about?

The Lost Skeleton of Cadavra is a 2001 American comedy, horror, and science fiction film directed by Larry Blamire about a scientist and his wife who, while searching for a rare meteorite, become entangled with aliens, a mutant, and a sinister skeleton in a send-up of 1950s B-movies.

Programmer's Pick

Larry Blamire’s film goes all-in on rubber monsters, stilted dialogue, and atomic-age paranoia, capturing every cardboard nuance of the B-movie tradition. If you’re the kind of cinephile who appreciates skeletons with grudges and aliens with questionable disguises, this is your radioactive cup of tea.

Overview

Set in 1961, The Lost Skeleton of Cadavra follows scientist Dr. Paul Armstrong and his wife Betty as they venture into the mountains in search of a meteorite rumored to contain the rare element atmosphereum. Their scientific quest quickly gets complicated when they cross paths with another eccentric scientist, Dr. Roger Fleming, who is investigating the mysterious Cadavra Cave and its legendary 'Lost Skeleton.' As night falls, a second meteorite streaks across the sky, but this one is actually a spaceship carrying two stranded aliens. Meanwhile, a local farmer meets a grisly fate at the claws of an unknown beast. This film is a tongue-in-cheek homage to the low-budget sci-fi and horror movies of the 1950s, gleefully embracing their clichés, monsters, and oddball characters.

Aliens and Mutant

Stranded extraterrestrials and their escaped mutant pet add layers of chaos and creature-feature nostalgia to the mountain mayhem.
