Quick Answer

What is Demons 2 about?

Demons 2 is a 1986 Italian fantasy-horror film directed by Lamberto Bava about residents trapped in a high-rise apartment building when demons invade from a television broadcast.

Programmer's Pick

Lamberto Bava and Dario Argento up the ante with a high-rise nightmare where your TV remote is no match for the supernatural. Demons 2 is pure Italian splatter, where birthday cakes, gym equipment, and elevators are just as dangerous as the demonic horde.

Overview

Years after the original demonic outbreak, city life has seemingly returned to normal—until a horror film broadcast on TV stirs up the supernatural once more. In a towering apartment block, residents settle in for a night of televised scares, unaware that the evil on screen is about to become terrifyingly real. At the center is Sally, celebrating her birthday with friends, whose party is about to take a turn for the monstrous. As the boundaries between fiction and reality dissolve, the inhabitants of the high-rise find themselves besieged by a new wave of demons, fighting for survival floor by floor. This sequel amps up the chaos with a stylish blend of supernatural horror and splatter effects.

Why This Matters

This sequel to Lamberto Bava's Demons marks the film debut of Asia Argento and was produced by Dario Argento. Although development began on a third film, the intended follow-up became The Church (1989), which is not narratively connected to the Demons series.
