Young Daisy is stuck working as a shopgirl by day and caring for her ailing mother by night. When a suicide goes wrong, Daisy ends up wrongly imprisoned as a result of her neighbor's testimony. In prison, a colorful cast of cellmates, including a dominating prison guard and a mysterious warden, keep things interesting for Daisy.
