Programmer's Pick

Peek-a-Boo is your backstage pass to mid-century burlesque: rubber balls, risqué skits, and Venus herself doing what she does best. If you want a true slice of 1953 bump-and-grind, this one's pure unfiltered tease—plus some questionable medical advice courtesy of a phony doctor.

Synopsis

This film is a record of a burlesque show featuring two group dance performances, five dances with stripteases and four comedy skits. Following an opening dance number on the set of a carnival, a carnival barker lures a patron into using his head as a target for the rubber ball toss. Other skits include a man impersonating a doctor while selling health machines used primarily on female customers, a "Palace of Passion" where men select women of different nationalities for their romantic liaisons, and a skit in which boxes of candy are used to make women amorous. Another company dance number includes a pas de deux featuring the DuPonts. The show concludes with a curtain call introducing the performers.
