Overview

Set in Emilia-Romagna in the early 1970s, The Bloodstained Lawn follows a UNESCO agent who stumbles onto a disturbing discovery: blood in a celebrated Italian winery’s bottle. Meanwhile, a group of misfits—a prostitute, a gypsy girl, a drunkard, and two hippie hitchhikers—are chauffeured by Alfiero to the palatial estate of Dr. Antonio Genovese and his enigmatic wife. The mansion exudes opulence but harbors strange secrets, not least a mysterious mechanical robot lurking in the shadows. As new guests are welcomed with suspicious generosity, they begin to vanish one by one, setting a tone of escalating unease.
